About me

That's why I became a translator

I have prepared an e-book, in which I do not deceive you. I tell you strategies to close contracts in other languages and I also show you my way of working.

I want to read the e-book

Do you know that in the Vulgate, the first translation of the Bible from Greek to Latin, evil was translated as apple?

But not only that, virgin in Hebrew means girl.

And like a weed it never dies...

we set out to do more translations into other languages of the bad translation.

Look, data as uncomfortable and challenging of reality as these are my driving force to learn languages, learn more cultures, study them, see the world from the eyes of others.

This obsession began when I was 8 years old when translating my first letter.

An email that my father sent to his American colleague in English in which he told him that he could come home to eat whenever he wanted.

Out of love, my father's colleagues sent me children's books in English, but I didn't understand anything and I reread them every day.

At 20 I felt very confident in my English, I was ready for the next adventure.

DESTINY?

RUSSIA WITHOUT SPEAKING RUSSIAN

At that time it was not as clear to me as it is now, but the infinite love for languages, the curiosity of knowing how another culture has faced different problems and come up with its own solutions excites me so much that I have moved country 3 times, abandoning to my family to start my life from 0 every time.

Not everything has been a bed of roses...

When I made the decision to go to Russia, I knew that I would have to translate a mountain of school documents, make apostilles, go to the notary, legalize all the academic certificates, the diploma and much more.

Understanding that I would have to look the bureaucracy in the eyes... I almost stayed in my warm house, but my spirit wouldn't allow it.

The friend of a friend of a friend knew a person who called himself a translator from Spanish to Russian and well, I trusted the friend...

Since I didn't know any Russian at that time, I took the documents he gave me and went to Russia.

15,000 km and 365 days later, I am very happy to enroll in the Faculty of Biology.

The university's response: we do not accept your translations.

At that moment I felt as if a hole had opened in the floor and the dirt had been sucked out of me. All the future I had planned, suddenly, cracked and fell like broken glass to the floor because of some translations!!

I was totally disoriented. The next day I had a hard time getting out of bed because I didn't feel like doing anything. I thought that I had brought everything prepared to the millimeter, I had already paid for the translations and not a little money... and now I had almost no time.

If I didn't solve this I wouldn't be able to enroll and if I didn't enroll I wouldn't have the visa and without the visa I would have to return home like a puppy with its tail between its legs.

A few months earlier I had met a boy who spoke Spanish because he had lived in Argentina. I thought: he has to help me. I told him, can you do me a favor, huh? Can you look at some translations and tell me if they are good or why the university doesn't want to accept them?

He told me yes, of course, I'll check them for you.

He found many mistakes, but one was special.

"This document is faithful and does not commit adultery to its original copy"

ahahaha (now it makes me laugh).

The translator's i#@$&a didn't know what he had written.

As you might imagine, the matter was resolved, I enrolled in university. 4 years later I obtained two diplomas, one in microbiology and the other in linguistics with an emphasis on translation from/to Russian/English/Spanish. I can tell you that I am so obsessed with languages that my grades were almost perfect, which is why I have a cum laude degree in translation.

And yes, the boy later became my husband and I became his faithful and unadulterated wife.

But feeling deceived affected me so much that I decided to learn the language so well that I specialized in making contracts and legal documents.

If you are a lawyer who might need to translate legal documents, who wonders what cave legal translators live in, I invite you to mine so that you can concentrate on making contracts and I can concentrate on translating them without spending your precious time doing tasks that you can delegate. .
